Iluta Lace is a hardworking idealist who is determined to build a new and egalitarian Latvia. She was only 24 when she founded Marta Sentrs, a women’s organisation that provide social services like lawyers, psychotherapists and social workers for women who have suffered from domestic violence, sex trafficking and prostitution. Marta Sentrs promote equality between women and men and this provoke resistance from the conservative establishment of Latvia.
